About Hydrocyclone Filter

A hydrocyclone filter is a centrifugal device that uses centrifugal force to separate sand, silt, and other heavy particles from water without any moving parts. Water enters the filter, creating a vortex that pushes the heavier solids to the outside wall and down into a collection chamber, while the clean water exits from the top. This makes them ideal for pre-filtering irrigation water to prevent clogging of downstream equipment like drip emitters and sprinklers, extending their lifespan and improving overall system efficiency.

How it works

Centrifugal separation: Water is fed into the filter tangentially, creating a spinning, vortex-like motion.
Particle movement: The centrifugal force pushes heavier particles (like sand) outwards, where they spiral down to the bottom of the device.
Clean water exit: The lighter, cleaner water moves upwards to the center of the vortex and exits through the top outlet.
Collection and flushing: Solid particles collect in a sediment chamber at the bottom, which can be easily flushed out periodically through a drain port.
