Key stages of a domestic sewage treatment plant

Preliminary Treatment:Screens and removes large solids and debris, like rags, sticks, and grit, from the sewage.
Primary Treatment:Wastewater flows into sedimentation tanks where heavier solids settle to the bottom, and lighter materials like oil float to the top, which are then removed.
