About Reciprocating Chiller

A reciprocating chiller isa refrigeration system that uses a piston-driven compressor to compress and circulate refrigerant for cooling. It works by repeatedly compressing a refrigerant gas, which increases its temperature and pressure. This process then involves condensing the gas into a liquid, passing it through an expansion valve to reduce its temperature and pressure, and finally evaporating it to absorb heat from the surrounding area.

How it works

Compression:A piston moves up and down in a cylinder, trapping and compressing the refrigerant gas. This increases the gas's pressure and temperature.
Condensation:The hot, high-pressure gas flows into a condenser, where it releases heat to the surroundings and turns into a high-pressure liquid.
Expansion:The high-pressure liquid passes through an expansion valve, which reduces its pressure and temperature significantly.
Evaporation:The now cold, low-pressure liquid refrigerant flows into an evaporator, where it absorbs heat from the area being cooled, causing it to vaporize and return to the compressor to start the cycle again.
