• Heat absorption: The chiller pumps the brine through a heat exchanger where it absorbs heat from the process or equipment that needs to be cooled.
• Heat rejection: The warmed brine is then pumped back to the chiller, where it releases the absorbed heat to a separate cooling source, such as a refrigeration system.
• Low-temperature cooling: The brine is cooled down and pumped back to repeat the cycle. Because salt or glycol lowers the freezing point of water, the brine can remain liquid at temperatures well below the freezing point of plain water, preventing ice buildup.
